Robert Monroe Richardson
1883 - 1968

BORN: 17 Apr 1883, Iowa
DIED: 14 FEB 1968
Glen Head, Nassau County, New York

Robert M. Richardson was an advertising executive and salesman, concidered by many in the family to be the most accomplished of Robert and Eve Richardson's children.

Robert, or Bob as he was called, had the most education of any of his siblings, including some college. He married a beautiful jewish woman with red-hair named Anna, who was said to have resembled a famous actress from that time named Janette McDonald.

Robert landed a top job as an advertising executive with the Janney Sample Hill company which was in the wholesale hardware business. He earned a large salary and lived in an apartment on the upscale Lake of the Isles near Minneapolis. Robert and Anna had two sons.

The Jenney Sample Hill company transferred Robert to Chicago, but several years into the Great Depression, the company asked Bob to take a cut in pay, which he refused, thinking he could find something comparable with another company. This turned out to be a mistake. After loosing his apartment and his fine Chinese furniture, Robert ended up moving to Pittsburg where he sold steel mill furnace liners. Later in life, he would manage a steel workers trade magazine, but Robert would never be "rich" again.

Robert died in 1968, well into his 80s. He was creamated and his ashes scattered over the Atlantic. Anna died several years before Robert and was buried in Chicago, next to the aunt who raised her.
