Wilhelm Hermann Albert Bringewatt was called 'Albert' by family and friends.

The titles to his father's land fell to Albert, though all three brothers worked the land, at least until Albert's health started to fail in his late 60s. He then decided to sell the property, which went at auction on August 26, 1978 -- except for 14 acres that Albert donated to Grand Forks with the stipulation that it be used for a park. The city dedicated Bringewatt Park in 1985, three years after Albert's death.
